Associate, Transportation Development

Bechtel Enterprises - Full Time - Reston, Virginia

Job Summary:

The Infrastructure Development ("Infra Dev") Associate role in BEn is typically a recent MBA graduate (or similar graduate degree) and is a common entry point into Bechtel for mid-career professionals with finance and business skillsets. Our team consists of finance and development professionals who are passionate about large-scale capital projects in transportation and heavy civil infrastructure, with specific interest in innovative delivery models such as public-private partnerships. The Infra Dev Team participates in RFI’s and market soundings with public authorities or their infrastructure procurement advisors and responds to RFQs and RFPs. BEn, along with our equity partners, leads the development on commercial aspects of the project during the bid and/or development phases, including delivery model analysis, pro-forma development, and funding and financing analysis.

You will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing business opportunities in transportation infrastructure and heavy civil projects including rail, transit, airports, ports and roadways. The Associate is an active participant on live deal teams (public procurements and private development projects) and will develop technical, commercial, and financial expertise across the whole lifecycle of greenfield infrastructure project finance. For projects that require a Bechtel Enterprises role, Infra Dev can get involved as early as conceptual master planning and feasibility studies. For late-stage projects, Infra Dev is ultimately involved with deal structuring, arranging financing, and contract negotiation. This role involves building relationships with key stakeholders to source deals and cultivate partnerships for project delivery. We frequently interact with federal, state, and local public authorities as well as private sector participants in the transportation and financing ecosystem. #LI-HB1 #LI-Hybrid
