Panel: The future of rail in the Bay Area

Panel: The future of rail in the Bay Area

Over the past few months, much has been discussed about how COVID-19 has disrupted daily life, but once users return to public transit there will be an increased focus on safety, capacity of the system, long-term changes in transportation behavior, and how transit will impact communities across the region. Please join us for a conversation regarding the future of rail in the Bay Area and how the incoming wave of mega projects will transform this landscape. We will hear from Bay Area transit agency leaders about how these projects will alter public transit, what challenges they will address, and the opportunities that they will bring to residents and businesses. We will discuss with these agency leaders what the Bay Area’s public transit system will look like in years to come.

Speakers include:

Boris Lipkin, Northern California Regional Director, California High-Speed Rail Authority
Sebastian Petty, Deputy Chief of Planning, Caltrain
Camille Tsao, Co-Director, New Transbay Rail Crossing, Capital Corridor Joint Powers Authority
Allie Reilly, WSP USA (Moderator)
