Mariana Torres is a Senior Vice President at John Laing, where as part of the Primary Investments team she identifies and develops infrastructure investment opportunities across all sectors in the Americas. With a strong background in demand and revenue forecasting, Ms. Torres plays a leading role in technical workstreams and an active role in commercial workstreams on bidding opportunities. She was part of the team that successfully closed the Hurontario LRT P3 project in 2019. Ms. Torres serves as Manager for the I-77 Express Lanes SPV Board of Directors, is a Board member for the New York Chapter of Women’s Infrastructure Network (WIN) and is Co-President of Young Professionals in Infrastructure (YPI). Prior to John Laing, Ms. Torres was Director of Infrastructure Economics at Louis Berger (now WSP). She holds a Master in City and Regional Planning from the University of California, Berkeley, with published research in parking planning and fare subsidies; urban emissions indicators; and management of public transit agencies.
